Heather Grant, whom I can’t help but admire, has a huge job over at QuiltCon: she’s organizing everyone’s schedules to allow for demos and talks to happen during the four days of the show! They just released the schedule for the demo, and I am thrilled and humbled to be presenting my quilt “Modern Spin” on behalf of Modern Quilts Unlimited. I’ll be talking a bit about my design process for this quilt, and showing some related materials for inspiration and thought.
In a past life (10 years ago now), I had been training to be a Classical archaeologist. The quilts I make are inspired very often by ancient patterns and designs, and I will be showing a few other pieces that illustrate this, as well as show some slides of ancient art that would look great as a modern quilt! Don’t want to give too much away, but I will also be showing my next design for MQU that will be in the Fall issue. SO. Excited! If you’re going, drop me a line in the comments!
