Just a quick peek

I have had my first quilt published in the winter edition of Modern Quilts Unlimited! I think I’ve posted this big guy before, but I’m waiting for my camera to be back so I can post pictures of the finished piece, but here’s a picture of the top:

I’m a new longarm quilter, which is one of the reasons I was ambitious enough to make something so big.  And, as with all the quilts I make, I learned a great deal about longarm quilting and piecing this monster.  First, longarm quilters hate wavy borders.  And this quilt was essentially composed of nothing *but* borders, and many of them wavy.  It looked great once it was finished, though, and I was able to reduce alot of the rippling with quilting, which I was very proud of when all was said and done.  More on that in a bit.
