I’ve been making little aprons for friends and family for a while now, and was always dissatisfied with the whole apron-tie-and-toddler bit. I had gotten a bunch of KAM snaps for other projects, and realized I could use them to fasten at the waist and neck rather than the traditional ties:

Three aprons for three girls; I had their moms pick out the fabrics when everyone was over for playgroup one day,
I used snaps all along the front as decoration, but they also have a functional purpose: I sometimes make little hand towels out of leftover birdseye cotton and the coordinating fabric (picture to come eventually), and then they snap right to the waistband. I also make little fabric strips that loop (think like a cloth carabiner!) that can be attached at the waist as well, for things like measuring spoons. Or a stuffed animal. Because, you know, snaps are awesome.
