So what I also meant to say in that last post about what I learned in the comments, is that I often hear that, “Modern quilters just want something fast and quick. They don’t want to make difficult things or try something hard”. And looking at all your bucket lists, many of the things on them would be considered not-easy-things. Tiny patches with need for precise piecing, attention to color and detail, all of these things show me you are all interested in improving yourselves and your work, and making more of your craft, and I *totally* dig that (not to say I don’t dig the quick-n-easy, either, because those projects are hella fun and satisfying). But it does make me think: what’s your next step going to be? Is it going to be something intermediate and in-between where you are now and where you are going? Or are you going to dive right in?
For myself, I always do something new with each next project, which means I’m always learning and trying new things. The corollary to that, however, is that I may not always achieve perfection on that project, but the *next* time I try it, I’ll have it down.
