No, really! I am making this mini quilt version of a larger quilt I have in mind (it’s a queen-sized quilt when it’s all done, and I will be writing a pattern for it, but now I don’t know what size!), and am having a ridiculously good time doing it. I’m quilting it on my sit-down machine, and haven’t done THAT in a year, which is also kind of meditative and nice. In the meantime, I’ve been refreshing my memory on how to make a knife-edge binding, since regular binding for my little fella would just not do at all.
FYI, I had the kids’ radio station on this afternoon, and heard lots of Mary Poppins, so maybe say that last sentence with a British nanny accent, and you’ve pretty much recreated my exact thought. You’re welcome. Pip pip! Time for the delightful wards to go to bed!
Oh, and here are two links to knife-edge binding techniques that I think are very good. Feel free to leave me a note if you have others to share, or have a way you like to finish your quilts without the traditional binding methods.
