If you don’t know Barbara Brackman and her work as a quilt historian, writer, and designer, you should. She has two blogs I read (she actually has several more): Material Culture, which deals with fabrics and quilts from all periods, and Historically Modern, which she describes as “…a blog about the traditions of modernism, with an eye to textiles, prints and interior design and how today’s quilters can build on the past.” So, modern-style quilters, this one is right up your alley. I love both. I think you may find them wonderful, too.

My pleasure! I kind of love everything about quilting and fabric, and can’t stop reading these. She’s also got a blog for quilts influenced by the War of 1812.

I am a modern quilter using all vintage and upcycled textiles and I have never found a blog that combines both passions – I signed up to follow both blogs instantly and I am excited to follow along!

Holly, that is great! She’s got some really interesting things, and I like her books, too (many are in our library). I’m addicted to Art Deco and Nouveau (got a tattoo at QuiltCon of Charles Rennie Macintosh roses), and she’s got a fabric line coming out based on work from that period. We’ll have to chat about her posts, ha!
