Modern Quilts Unlimited Fresh Ideas! Block Challenge

Woohoo!  Just found out that I was one of twelve finalists  for the Fresh Ideas! block challenge hosted by Modern Quilts Unlimited!  Sweet… yet, sadly, not one of the three winners.  I’m still pretty excited, though.  My block will be on their website in September, and I will post a link when it’s there.  Once again, it’s based on an ancient design, but it’s going to look pretty sweet.

Thanks, Holly! Now I have to figure out what fabric to use. One block is part of a much bigger pattern, so I worry noone will see what it actually looks like for the whole quilt. Oh well 🙂

Congratulations, Mandy! One of my blocks placed 3rd in this contest. It must be beginner’s luck because I’ve never entered any quilt stuff before. 🙂 They said they had a lot more entries than they thought they would receive, so we are both fortunate. I checked out your designs on Flickr and am amazed. Your work is fabulous!!! Ann

Hi Ann, thanks for finding me! I can’t wait to see what all the blocks are going to look like–I had a hard time picking and sticking with colors to show things off; did you, too? And thank you for your kind words about my work. On a rainy morning, it was a nice thing to read.
