Yup, another year older. I’ve never really felt like getting older was a terrible thing, more like a chance to take all the things you’ve learned the previous year and do something with them, whatever that learning looks like. There’s a line in book I read that said middle age is ten years older than wherever you are, and that’s what I feel like. WORD.
On to the giveaway! Have you seen Angela Walter’ new line, “Legacy“? Through Art Gallery Fabrics, it’s got a beautiful hand and lovely drape, making it a great choice for quilting or garment sewing, in my opinion. I love that she incorporates so many quilting motifs in her designs, because I love the kind of interplay you can make between the print and the quilting itself!
There’s a theater in Nashville (now turned into something else) that has a grand marquis out in front, and Decoratifs Teal reminds me of that old-school, elegant bijoux.
I’ve been wanting to make a quilted bag, lately, based on a couture bag I got from Italy years and years ago (remind me to tell you *that* story later…) and I think these fabrics might be a great start. Off to the drawing board!
Angela sent me four half-yard cuts to ogle share with you, and I’m really happy to be able to share them with you AND have a giveaway! I’ve been thinking of all the ways I want to use these, and would love to hear what you’d do with them, too! To enter, leave a comment on this post any time between now and Sunday, Sept 8 (9 p.m. EST) telling me what you’d make. Good luck!
I think I would make a bed pillow. Although I think it would also make a nice table runner.
Hey lovely lady! Happy birthday to you. I am so glad we got to meet at MQX and I hope we can meet up again soon. Just last night I decided to start reading blogs again so I was psyched to see this posted on facebook. What would I do with the fabrics? I’m not sure but I would start off by petting them and rearranging them and then mixing them in with some other fabrics and the pet them some more. You know.
Happy Birthday, Mandy! Celebrate like the Queen you are!
I think a cute little top for my granddaughter (with blue eyes). Yoke of one fabric, sleeves of another and the body of the other two. Would also require some fine wale corduroy pants in that teal…
Happy Birthday! I would put them in a scrappy quilt. They are interesting lighter patterned fabrics and should work well.
Oh this would be a really cute baby quilt…or a cover for my daughter’s kindle
These would look great in a quilt! I especially like Genealogy Oro.
Oooo, Happy Birthday! These are all gorgeous! I’d make them into a cute pouch or bag!
Happy b-day! I´d make something for our baby 😛
I’ve been wanting to do placemats and napkins. These would make great eclectic style to my dinner table!
a quilt for me!
Leona
A baby quilt for sure & I hope you had the most wonderful birthday!
Happy Birthday to you. I would use these beautiful fabrics in a quilt. I’m new to quilting and I’m hooked.
I would have to talk to them first, then lovely touch them. What would I make … I would make a quilt for ovarian cancer project. Thank you
I would add just the right shade of white and make a quilt…the colors would work quite nicely with my beach-themed home!
Happy birthday!! Thanks for this awesome opp – the fabrics are beautiful!! I would use them in a lap quilt ~
Would love to win these !! I think I would wait for them to come out and add to them and make a new table runner. Thanks for the chance and Happy Birthday!!!
These would make such a cute quilt for a baby boy!
I would add to my low volume stash…..and at some point…a kwilt!
They would be great in so many things, but I am kind of obsessed with quilted pillows right now so that is probably what I would do:)
Happy Birthday! I would make a patchwork purse. Short term project, long term enjoyment!
Sending Happy Birthday wishes over the miles to you!! If I won this dreamy fabric, I would make a quilt for my bed… thanks for the chance!!
Happy Birthday :). I would use this fabric to make some fabric covered journal books :). Thanks for the chance :). Good luck everyone :).
I can see some beautiful cushions in my lounge using that fabric – but they’d be too precious to let the kids touch!!
Happy birthday! Hope you’re having a fab one! =D
I think I would use them to make myself a pretty “hostess apron” maybe, or possibly a table runner so I could look at them all the time… Difficult choice! =)
I’d probably make a bag for me! Thanks for the chance and happy birthday!
Happy birthday! I would use them in a quilt, I love these colors!
Happy Birthday! I would make a lap quilt for my Mom, she is always cold at her nursing home!
I support a charity who helps those with any medical illness of any age. “Musicians for Miracles” I would make a quilt for them to auction off.
Bows, probably! 🙂 And a new pillow case to match my bed sheets!
Comments are closed. Thanks everyone! I will let you know the winner sometime this afternoon.
Happy Belated Birthday, Mandy!
Life has been so crazy, I’m behind on reading blogs.
I sure hope closed comments doesn’t mean you won’t see my well wishes.
Rock on, compared to me, you’re a youngster!
Thanks so much, Meg!
