Best self-directed craft

My little boy has been dying to make paper chains, and while I am usually really reluctant to do Christmas holiday decorating before Thanksgiving (the tree is another story–that happens the day *after*), he’s got some time this week and has the ambition, so why not?
Making paper chains
What you see here is crafting at it’s discount-store-finest: the paper slicer (doesn’t open, the cutter just slides back and forth, so safe for little hands) was $4.99 from TJ Maxx, and the block of Christmas craft card stock was $2.99 from Tuesday morning. We will probably get some major paper chain out of this, and we are all super geeked about it.
