I know, I know.. taking carefully curated photos is a *thing*, but I haven’t really been so great at that! In any case, here are a few pictures I just found scrolling through some pictures today:
This quilt was a block of the month from a friend of mine. She wanted minimal quilting on it, since there was so much going on, and quite a few thick seams, plus she wanted it to be softer (although a wash or two with more densely quilted things tends to soften them up just fine, if you wash your quilts). I did a ribbon fill around the blocks and continuous line quilting, with a little extra detail.
Her second quilt was an HST zigzag, and again, she requested minimal quilting:
Those wavy lines are doubled up, and when they’re washed, they make a really nice texture in the quilting. Basic swirls in the border and the purple ziggies, and then doubled circles in the narrow border.
And last, I finally found a complete photo of my tree of life quilt! Like I sai, I stink at photos. I think it’s because it takes time away from sewing and quilting, which is kind of what I’d rather be doing, you know?
this one was a commission for a friend’s 10 year anniversary. You can see that doubling (or tripling, in this case) technique again, and it really gives it a lovely texture. It looks like the lines on the palm of your hand, and just looks and feels nice and soft and wrinkly. There’s no more than an inch or inch and a half in between the lines, which is good for the longevity of the quilt.
I think I know my New Year’s resolution already! More and better pictures, right? Right.
