Hi friends, I wanted to share some news with you, especially if you’re local! I’ll be teaching a class series on freemotion domestic machine quilting with Gloversville Sewing Center in March and in May.
Each series consists of two classes: The first class centers on design and drawing, and is meant to help students learn strategies enabling them to take a quilt top and figure out what they want to put on it. We’ll discuss a number of different quilting motifs, and talk about ways to practice before we even touch a machine. The second class is the machine quilting class, where students will bring in their machines, practice sandwiches, the handouts from their previous class, and we’ll actually get to work! This is a Bernina classroom, so we will be working with BSR, but if you don’t have the BSR option, you can still take the class as long as you are comfortable with FMQ (this is not an intro to FMQ, though, so you should be comfortable with FMQ to be able to apply the design aspect to your quilt sandwich).
First series: March 19 and 26, 9:30-2:30 at the Saratoga Springs location
Second series: May 7 and 28, 10-3, at the Gloversville store.
(Class descriptions will be up soon on the Gloversville website.)
