We’ve had a long illness here, with a pretty nasty fever and a double ear infection. I’ll get back to writing once everyone is on the mend. Our nights have been like having a newborn again!
My free quilt patterns for Craftsy
Part of the gig for my free Craftsy class was providing two free patterns as part of the course materials (to get it, sign up for the class–it’s free–and they’re in the course materials available to download). The one I was so excited to make is behind me in the class ad (you can see […]
Heads Up: Credentials and Quilt Market
Hi quilty business friends, it’s has come to my attention that the credentials required for getting a badge for Quilt Market, our industry trade show, have changed and become stricter. It may be a good idea to check and see if that applies to you, if you are considering attending the spring show in Pittsburgh. […]

To celebrate the New Year on the right foot, nothing says “i’m going to rock this year”like a quilt finish! I’d like to help you get there by offering a sale on my quilting services for finishing up the quilt top of your choice. Those Block-of-the-Month quilts or those group projects that seem to languish, […]
Quilting Inspiration from Viktor and Rolf fall-winter 2013
This image, in particular, made me stop and look up the show on youtube. Something about this whole show is really striking to me. The echoed lines of the flooring, the billowy fabrics, the way it was presented as sculptured stone in a zen garden… the whole thing was really beautiful. Fashion inspiration two days in […]
Today’s quilting thing
I saw this at the New York State Museum today, and it reminded me of Lisa, who likes to quilt on satin. I always wondered if quilting was for bedding only, and it seems that, at least for this dress, it was used as decorative embellishment. Wish I could have gotten a better photo, but […]
Quilting 2013! Reflections and Resolutions
Thanks to the Sew Mama Sew’s series, I’ve been casting back and thinking through where I’ve been so that I know where I want to go. Like any number of people, in past years I have wanted to come up with something *awesome* for the new year, something to work towards, something that at the end of […]
Merry Christmas!
I’m turning off my phone and computer, unhooking for reals until the day after Christmas. Between now and then, though, I am hoping you and yours are healthy and happy this week, no matter who you are or where you are. Well, I wish and hope that all the time, really, but now I’m actualizing […]
Best Worst Christmas Carol
Every year, I have to stop and listen to this one because it makes me laugh until my sides hurt. This version even comes with terrible lip syncing. Double win!
Call for contributors for Sheri Lynn Wood’s book–is this you?
There are a few quilters whose work and words I find myself returning to time and again. One of those people is quilt artist Sheri Lynn Wood at daintytime. She taught a class on improvisational curves at QuiltCon (which I’m still kicking myself for not taking), and is just a really thoughtful maker of beautiful […]
