Back in April, I went to the New England Quilt Festival to take some classes and learn new things. I also got to hang out with a bunch of really great people and laugh like crazy–Angela, Melissa, Lisa, and Theresa–and have some great food and great drinks. Good quilting, good company, good eats, what could be better? One night in particular was fantastic, because we were all introduced to a fabulous cocktail made with whiskey, maple syrup, and ginger beer.
This drink was so tasty, I have been thinking about making it ever since. Tonight, on a whim, I looked in the soda section of our grocery (ed. note: I wrote “coke” instead of soda, because I’m form the South and then had to correct!) and found Gosling Ginger Beer (they make it to go with their rum. Who knew?). So I bought it.
I was just going to wing it, but with a little internet sleuthing, I found a recipe for a number of ginger beer cocktails here *including* one called a “Nor’Easter”, which is exactly what I was looking for. These are great summer beverages, methinks, so I hope you enjoy them with friends and share laughs. Let me know what you think if you try them out!
